The Breakthrough
After mixing Emmalee’s earlier work, multi-platinum producer Wally Gagel recognized something exceptional.
Gagel has previously worked to develop other artists including Best Coast (5.1 million monthly Spotify listeners; ~$100k/month in streaming revenue) and Family of the Year (900,000 monthly listeners), in addition to working with Miley Cyrus, Muse, New Order and The Rolling Stones.
Now, he and his longtime production/business partner, Xandy Barry, have approached Emmalee to make her their next artist-development project: writing, recording and building the next chapter of her career – together.

WHY THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING
The traditional independent path is slow and fragmented: finding experienced collaborators, funding recordings and social media campaigns, and building industry relationships from the outside.
This opportunity brings the essential pieces together: a clear musical direction to develop release-ready music backed by decades of connections across music, media and entertainment. With professional artist development before approaching the industry, she can enter label, distribution, and licensing conversations with greater leverage while retaining ownership of her work. Funding will cover fees for:
Artist Development: Collaborative writing, creative direction, arrangements, and pre-production
Recording: Studio time, musicians, engineering, mixing & mastering
Marketing & Distribution: Press, social media campaigns, digital ads, vinyl, t-shirts and more
FUNDING REQUEST: $15,000
Emmalee and her business partner will match outside funding dollar for dollar, demonstrating a shared financial commitment to the project and doubling the impact of every contribution.
We are asking for direct donations through Stripe, rather than a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter, to avoid the exorbitant fees those platforms charge. Stripe is one of the most widely used payment processing technologies across the globe, powering Amazon, Target, DoorDash, and more.
All contributions are financial support only. No contribution amount includes financial returns, creative control, approval rights, business management, or input into Emmalee’s music, image or artistic direction.
